Edgar is currently in his senior year at the University of Arizona majoring in Public Health and working as an Undergraduate Research Assistant for Nosotros: Compormetidos a su Salud. After graduating with his Bachelor's degree, Edgar will be starting with his Master's in Public Health in Health Behaviors Health Promotion at the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health in this upcoming Fall 2018 semester. Edgar's research interest encompasses a need to understand the root of health disparities in vulnerable populations and a drive to learn how public health can collectively effect positive changes to diminish this burden. After completing his Master’s degree in public health, Edgar's long-term goals include to apply the acquired knowledge during his academic career to a future physical therapy program and obtain a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. Edgar believes that combining the application of a public health background within the practice of physical therapy can truly signify something to himself as he will be able to not only treat the physical symptoms of a human body, but also be able to diagnose the individual in a holistic manner by observing different perceptions surrounding the mental, environmental, and social contexts of the person being treated. On his free time, Edgar spends his time playing indoor soccer at the UA's intramurals or with his friends and family exploring the different places and activities that the city of Tucson has to offer.
